Guided exercises to help you feel calm and have fun in an intuitively creative way.

Mixing artistic play with mindful listening, this wellbeing class guides you through a series of engaging art-based exercises designed to help you relax, slow down and connect with your mind and body.

Set in an inclusive, friendly environment, Meditative Marks is for anyone looking to calm their mind through gentle and expressive activities.

No art or drawing skills are required. You’ll create freely and instinctively whilst focusing on the present.

I hope by the end of each session you’ll feel more centred, have enjoyed time away from stressors and distractions – and that you’ll have had fun.

Mark Making

Active Meditation

Active Meditation

A technique referring to the countless art techniques you can use to create shapes, patterns, textures, lines and dots. You can make them in a considered and exacting way, or be fluid and imaginative. There are no rules when it comes to mark making, and you can use any media from paints and pastels to paper and found objects.

Active Meditation

A relaxing mindfulness practice that health journalist Kaitlin Vogel describes as ‘meditation in motion’. It involves performing a particular task and shifting your focus to how that task impacts your movement, breathing and senses (smell, sight, sound, taste, touch). In performing the task, you connect to your mind and body by concentrating on the present moment.

Mindful listening

Active Meditation

Mindful listening

This requires you to ground yourself in the here and now. Giving your complete attention to a calming narrative draws your attention to your senses and your breath and, once again, connects your mind to your body. Meditative Marks classes draw on short, soothing stories full of sensory details that are grounded in the natural world. Often combining peaceful nature journeys with ambient soundscapes like bird song, flowing water and rustling leaves, they are designed to lower your stress levels and lull you into a relaxed state of mind.
